Now my wife is ready to play with it anytime I offer, she likes the bigger one over the smaller one..course I have to accomendate her when she is ready because she never knows when she might get another chance. Think if I get where I am not able, you could let her ride yours? You use yours more often so it probably would be available anytime she got the urge to want too...Hey and some insite, she isn't hard to please cause 15 minutes in the saddle does her just fine, sometimes she doesn't want to get off but knows she has too, she is hoping my surgery lets me stay in the saddle a little longer than usual so maybe we can ride a little longer and harder.. Well enough about her love for motorcycles so I will catch you later....hehe

    Author: gifford/bilt
Subject: air tramp
Posted: 02 July 2008 at 7:51am

you are suppose to be working, what are you doing on here goofing off? Ok I am suppose to be working too but this is better than falling asleep at my work station, well on second thoughts it is pretty nice to catch a nap...

I didn't get a chance to show you the detail on the bike last night. It has several little detail items that make it unique, well for my peabrain to come up with anyway. Oh the oil leak let me explain haha, I have an open crankcase breather tube just like a satio and it will always have some mist of oil in it and when you stop it will leak a drip or two, what I do is let it sit for a while and roll it up a few yards and then it wont look like the oil dripping ole harley it really is.

I didn't go really wild with the frame and front end, have you ever tried to ride or turn one of them things? at a slow speed it will have an automatic weave in it and you cant turn them in a 40 acre field. That front end is stock, I just have the frame three inches longer than stock. I had an old 49 panhead that had an 18" over stock, talk about a chopper...

I wish you could have seen the paint in the sunlight, it looks almost plain in the shade or no light but put it in the sunlight and it just comes alive with something between metal flake and metalics. It really draws a crowd at a show or really anyplace you have it.

I started out with an empty table, a set of 1974 engine cases I've had since 78 and sort of an idea of what I wanted. You know I mentioned I have a boring bar the other day, well I took the cases and bored them out to accept bigger cylinders, then bored the cylinders .060 oversized, I put H beam rods, left the crank stock except I balanced it to the pistons. I took and put a fairly size camshaft with light valve train and stainless steel valves, ported the heads somewhat, (shovelheads are already too large in the ports to start with) I put a high flow oil pump, harleys don't have to have a lot of oil pressure just volume, I have a buddy that works at the chrome shop that did my polishing, I even took the heads and he polished them. Said that would be the last set he even attemted except the next set he did for me.. I can't take credit for the JJ hand shift, I came up with the design and tried to cut it out but it was literal ell trying to do it, another buddy took it to work and cut it out at his job and then it went to my buddy at the polishing shop. In the drive train I put a belt drive up front but have it enclosed so It looks like the stock primary. I mentioned the hand clutch and foot clutch combination, this is an original idea, there are other systems that do the same thing but I am partial to mine because haha its mine...It took me two years from start to finish, all bought and paid for as it went on the bike, I had to put the cook on rations so I could buy some of the goodies I put in it. I don't feel like motorcycles are a hobby for me because it is just part of my life like wearing glasses or having a belt to go with your pants (that make any sense) Ok got to go to work, been interupted four times while trying to write this, what do people think I am here to work or something?

jj
